A final single before the release of his upcoming ‘Blue Solstice Volume 2’, ‘Inside Out’ is the work of London-based singer-songwriter Kwaku Asante.
The Motown-influenced track “Inside Out,” produced by multi-instrumentalist Dan Holloway, fuses R&B, pop, soul, and funk around the theme of unrequited love. As he fantasises about what may happen if he worked up the nerve to approach her, Kwaku’s silky vocals float with the rhythm. He describes his feelings of being hypnotised by his emotions by comparing his love interest to blossoming flowers in a beautiful poem. After a string of upbeat releases this summer, Kwaku finally reached the pinnacle with his COLOURS performance of “Strawberry Skies” last month.
