The crew behind the late K1 has released his posthumous track, ‘Tomorrow,’ featuring KKEDA, to guarantee that he leaves a lasting influence on a scene that he loved.
K1 came up to his followers about his ongoing cancer struggle in August, only to be taken too soon on November 8th, leaving a legacy behind him. Music became a form of healing for him over time; it was his everything and kept him energised every day. If he wasn’t in the studio, he was in his vehicle listening to music, and if he wasn’t doing that, he was spending time with his family, partner, and close-knit circle of friends in Derby and London.
“On behalf of K1’s family and management team, although we are still processing his loss, we are committed to continuing his legacy just as he intended. Music meant everything to K1 and our aim is\sto share it over the coming year with all the people who supported his dream. He wanted to release\s‘Tomorrow’ as his next single and at the time of filming, K1 suggested using a double as he wasn’t well enough to shoot the video. We hope you enjoy the new music as much as we do and from the bottom of our hearts, we can’t thank you enough for the support you’ve given him and all your kind words.”
K1 was born and bred in the East Midlands, and his second track, ‘Broken Hearted Crook,’ went viral last year, firmly putting him on the map within the UK’s flourishing Rap scene.
Coming from outside the capital spurred his motivation and encouraged him to strive harder and battle for his position not just for himself, but also for Derby. There was so much more to this poet than meets the eye; he didn’t want to produce one certain style and his goal was to become one of the most diverse Rappers in the scene, which he accomplished. K1’s major inspirations as an artist are Eminem, Juice Wrld, XXXTENTACION, Little Tjay, and Drake.
