NEWS: CHRIS BROWN FIRES BACK AT COUNTRY STAR, “USING MY NAME TO GET PUBLICITY?”

R&B singer Chris Brown has decided to lash back at country star Miranda Lambert in light of her firing shots toward him during a live performance, blasting him for his 2009 domestic violence case with ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

Rather than air out Lambert, Breezy sarcastically promoted her music.

“Using my name to get publicity? I love it! Perform your heart out!,” he tweeted February 18th.

“Go buy @miranda_lambert album! So motivational and “PERFECT”!”

“Goodnight to all the people who live life and who aren’t stuck in the past! TEAM BREEZY is my family! Positivity and blessings!” (Chris Brown’s Twitter)

Last Thursday (February 16), Lambert went off on an anti-Brown tirade during her University of Massachusetts concert.

Before singing “Gunpowder and Lead,” about a woman preparing to kill her abusive husband, Miranda pulled out a poster with handwritten letters saying, “Take Notes Chris Brown” Them would seem to be fightin’ words. Lambert instructed the crowd, holding her artwork high. “I’ve been in a world of hurt with Chris Brown fans lately…but see, I just have to speak my mind because where I come from, beating up on a woman is never OK.” Lambert then cracked, “So that’s why my daddy taught me early on in life how to use a shotgun.” Wow, we wonder how she feels about Brown getting back in the studio with Rihanna. Actually, never mind, we don’t wonder. We know. (E! Online)

Last week, Lambert displayed her issues with Brown gracing the 54th annual Grammy Awards.

“How dang long did they give Nicki Minaj to do whatever that was? Strange,” Miranda Lambert said Monday on Twitter, discussing performances at the Sunday awards show. “And Chris Brown twice? I don’t get it. He beat on a girl… Not cool that we act like that didn’t happen. He needs to listen to Gunpowder and lead and be put back in his place. Not at the Grammys.” (Los Angeles Times)

Despite their past domestic dispute, both Brown and Rihanna performed at last weekend’s event.

Chris Brown’s career rehabilitation from his arrest for the beating of his then-girlfriend Rihanna just before the 2009 Grammys took another step forward with a Grammy win and a performance Sunday. “We got one!” the 22-year-old Brown said during a short acceptance speech after winning a Grammy for best R&B album. Rihanna was given her turn to perform during the same hour, collaborating with Cold Play on stage. (CNN)
