Eminem’s Manager Paul Rosenberg Named New CEO of Def Jam
Def Jam is under new management, and it just so happens to be one of the best brains in the game. According to Variety, Eminem’s long-time manager Paul Rosenberg is set to take over the label as its new CEO. Steve Bartels has held the top position at Def Jam since 2013, and will stay on until January 1 when Rosenberg takes the reigns.

A 46-year-old native of Detroit, Rosenberg has overseen Eminem’s career since the late ’90s and is the co-founder of Shady Records (he’ll continue to do both). In recent years, Rosenberg has signed Westside Gunn and Conway to Shady Records while adding Danny Brown and Action Bronson to his Goliath Management firm. Could this be a sign of the direction Def Jam goes in? (For what it’s worth, we hope it is.)
“He’s super smart and will steer the company in the right direction,” says a source of Rosenberg’s appointment.
