Q.Z. tha Leader rapper returns with his brand-new album “Dark Matter(s)”
After dropping records like “Green Hous”- & “Tabo”- on HW, Mississippi born rapper Q.Z. tha Leader is back with his new album and it’s hard. On Dark Matter(s), Z grapples with the light and darkness we all struggle to balance in our everyday lives. This abstract battle permeates throughout the album exposing traumatic shifts in Z’S paradigm. Z muses about the various pitfalls plaguing “the pale blue dot” on the album’s opener “Meanwhile On Earth”.
On the album’s title track “Dark Matter(s)” He questions the very fabric of the African American mortality rate in America. The production feels organic & otherworldly at times, bouncing from screeching guitar solos to vinly carved boom bap breaks. “Enceladus” finds Z at his most vulnerable waxing poetic about his flaws and shortcomings. His innate ability to asses the world around him from macro/mirco lenses is what makes this album so significant and powerful.
