Playlist

 Wxlfman – DarkLight

The song features another Brooklyn native by the stage name Fritz The Abyss. It tackles the current state of society in a ominous blend of creative lyricism along with melodic flows. Wxlfman & Fritz brings a vivid but edgy outlook by mixing metaphor, depth and rhyme behind some dark but bouncy instrumentation from Sweden based producers ByAnyMeans. (Facebook)

Omar Zidan – Famous!!!!!

“Famous!!!!!” is a satirical trap song with a serious message. Its aim is to show some of the realities behind the music industry, along with fame, vice, and the difficulty of balancing identities and sincerity in the digital age. (Soundcloud)

Patrick Martel – Come With Me Feat. Hohepa

Not much is known about Patrick Martel only that his new single “Come With Me” features Hohepa. The track is pretty wavy and stands out amongst others which is one of the reason I decided to share with you guys.

“Sometimes you just gotta show her what it’s going to be like being with you, before she chooses you.”

Accent -Belief (Feat. Kinetics & One Love, Benefit & Dylan Owen)

Fresh off the release of his first single, “Rapping For Change,” and the corresponding documentary about his time as a street performer, New York City-based rapper Accent is back with his second single — a thoughtful posse cut featuring Benefit, Kinetics, and Dylan Owen, friends of Acc’s who also happen to be incredibly gifted lyricists as well.

Over Skinny Atlas’s alluring production that shifts and advances throughout the song, the four artists speculative and share their take on some of society’s biggest questions — doing so with astounding lyrical prowess, rhyme schemes, and wisdom. Here’s what Acc had to say about the track:

“Belief” is the devil’s advocate’s devil’s advocate. It plays both sides of the fence in a series of queries regarding humanity’s age-old curiosities. Genesis or the Big Bang? Adam & Eve or Evolution? Nature or Nurture? But it never commits itself to either side of any argument. Benefit, Kinetics, Dylan & I all bring our different identities and styles as rappers to the table, and you can hear that bleeding through the content on each verse.

Accent’s new EP, The Last Lyricist, is slated to arrive next month and will feature more of the same formula shown here — thoughtful songwriting, grappling with important issues, advanced lyricism, and really talented guests. (Facebook)

Mav – Man Down ft. RowdyLife YP & Caskey

Minneapolis artist Mav breaks onto our pages with his latest single “Man Down.” Featuring Rowdy Life YP (Lituation, inc.) and Caskey (Rich Gang/Cash Money) the TaylorMadeBeatz-produced song serves as Mav’s second release of the year.

Check out “Man Down” above and be sure to follow Mav on SoundCloud to stay up on all future releases.

Mike Akox – Sorry

Mike Akox with the video for sorry, a Wyes-produced, emotional song that revolves around apologies to a partner or anyone you’ve wronged. The Australia-based Afro-beat singer says he recorded this track for 15 minutes.

Akox has performed with Ghanaian BET Award winner, Stonebwoy and in this song he goes all out.
