Pusha T Joins River Tiber On “Illusions.”
Though Drake’s smash-and-grab-style approach to supporting young guns like iLoveMakonnen has drawn plenty of criticism, it’s hard to hate on Aubrey for using River Tiber’s “No Talk” (which had actually yet to be released at the time) on 2015’s “No Tellin,” because it introduced me to one of my current favorite artists.
The 24-year-old singer/producer joins a seemingly endless list of new talent emerging from the Toronto area, but offers something wholly unique. As he proved on last year’sWhen the Time Is Right EP, it doesn’t always take the maximum amount of effort to touch your soul.
River is currently prepping the release of his debut album Indigo this Spring, and today he gave Zane Lowe the green light to spin his new single “Illusions,” featuring Pusha T and produced by himself, KAYTRANADA and Doc McKinney.
