Seyi Vibez Shows a Softer Side on “DIAMONDS”
Seyi Vibez has dropped his new 14-track project SWAGUU, with “DIAMONDS” emerging as one of its more romantic moments.
The Nigerian artist swaps some of his harder edges for something smoother here, using an infectious melody and his distinctive vocal delivery to celebrate attraction and the effect one person can have on your world. It’s polished and feel-good without losing the character that has made Seyi such an identifiable voice within Nigeria’s current generation.
“DIAMONDS” also fits into the wider mood of SWAGUU, a project centred around confidence, celebration and personal evolution.
There’s an international connection on the record too. Quavo appears on the project’s title track, bringing Atlanta into Seyi’s Lagos-rooted musical world and adding another cross-continental collaboration to his catalogue.
With 14 tracks to explore, SWAGUU gives Seyi Vibez plenty of room to move between different moods. “DIAMONDS” shows what happens when he turns his attention towards romance.
