The Recipe f/ Talib Kweli & Spark Master Tape “Place to Rest” Video

Place to Rest is the first single off The Recipe’s upcoming album Funerals & Purgatory. The track and video is about finding a place to rest, fighting to be accepted and the sacrifices we made in order to do so – as people (as 3rd culture kids who are all mixed race and live out of their countries, a home, a place to be buried) and in music ( as rappers that grew up in the golden era of hiphop but live in today’s world of hiphop).

The masked figure plays a large role in our up and coming album ‘Funerals & Purgatory’ and represents a unidentifiable and conflicted identity with our battle in the current state of hiphop and our 3rd culture clashes. A perfect example being he own’s Yeezys, yet he burns them.
