After a sold-out four-night residency at London’s KOKO, Thundercat is back with his first original music in two years. The Grammy-winning bassist and vocalist drops not one but two new tracks — “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time” and “Children of the Baked Potato” featuring Remi Wolf .
The double release arrives alongside the announcement of a huge North America and European tour, which includes six UK headline shows, including the iconic O2 Brixton Academy.
Produced with the legendary Greg Kurstin, “I Wish I Didn’t Waste Your Time” delivers classic Thundercat vibes: smooth falsetto, playful riffs, and a laid-back bassline. In contrast, “Children of the Baked Potato” brings urgency and fire, powered by Remi Wolf’s electrifying vocals. Named after LA’s famed jazz spot The Baked Potato — a club that shaped Thundercat’s artistry — the track is both homage and celebration.
Speaking on the collab, Thundercat says: “She’s [Remi] a child of the Baked Potato like me… there was no one better I could have picked.”
