As a Nigerian myself I’ve been reading nonstop about this tragic situation in my home country. While I can somewhat (albeit hypocritically at times) breathe a sigh of relief that these attacks are not in the are of Nigeria where my family is from, it is heartbreaking to know that so many people have needlessly lost their lives all the while both the corrupt government and Nigeria’s so-called president sit on their hands and do nothing about it. MTV recently caught up with Wale while he was in New York, where he essentially echoes my own thoughts: how can anybody use religion as a reason to kill women and children? Sigh..
