Jason Derulo taps Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla Sign for new song “Swalla.”
On the red carpet of the 2017 Grammy Awards earlier this month, Jason Derulo announced his new single “Swalla” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. “I never believe in forcing a collaboration. You know, I’m a fan of both of theirs and I thought that they fit the track perfectly. It’s one of those ones that’ll get you up and doing your thing. I feel like it’s gonna stick out on the radio. There’s nothing that sounds like it,” Derulo told Billboard about the island flavored collaboration.
While Jason and Ty $ exchange vocals, Queen Minaj comes through closing the dance record with a sexy guest verse. Derulo also gushed about the accompanying music video which has already been filmed. “You know we’re from the islands. So, we really took it there and it’s definitely a must-see. As soon as the video comes out, make sure you’re clicking.”
“Swalla” is currently available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify in select international markets like Australia. Fans in North America can purchase on iTunes at midnight.
