Late 2012, Saint arrived in Malmo, Sweden with nothing but a backpack and the hopes of finding a safe haven that could nourish his dreams of home.

As a self­diagnosed synesthetic, music has always been an anchor in the storm. A source of calmness in the midst of chaos. Deportation letters, hopeless meetings with social workers, temporary refugee housings – music has been the only constant in his life for the past few years.

 

The young Gambian artist has since teamed up with Rebstarand his based boutique label Today Is Vintage.

Saint’s unforgettable feature on Rebstar’s hit “Safe Safe” left many wondering about the newcomer. Saint shortly after followed up with his own debut single Chillin, declared one of Sweden’s best rap songs of 2015 by Swedish Radio P3.

Fast forward March 2016, Noisey premiered Saint’s debut project The New Funky Dreaddescribing it as some of the best hip hopthey’ve heard in years.
