Black Lion — Survive (ft. Testament & Ray Robinson)

Black Lion’s newest single “Survive” is bound to become a hit. The track portrays the universal themes of struggle, survival and overcoming life’s challenges. From the current crisis in Sudan to the everyday struggle to make ends meet, be successful, or achieve a higher state of being and spiritual actualization, ‘Survive’ can be appreciated by a broad audience across all genders and ages. The instrumental has an uplifting feel to it and is complimented by fierce, conscious lyricism. With elements of traditional boom-bap as well as trap, this experimental piece exemplifies the versatility of Black Lion’s sound. ‘Survive’ will give listeners an inner spark of confidence and motivation while they move though all types of life’s events, even when times may be tough.

Hypo — Flex On My X

Following his most recent track “First Night”, featuring Yxng Bane and Asco, London-based rapper Hypo is now back with the uptempo club banger “Flex On My X”. “Isn’t it comedic how every time we end a relationship, we start something new; getting a new haircut, start going to the gym, going on a holiday or getting new jewellery. That’s what ‘Flex On My X’ is about” says Hypo. “It’s about flexing on your ex, but at the same time… wanting that person back.”

Alonetown (OnDeck X K3nn3dy) — WHATCHU THINKIN

“WHATCHU THINKIN” serves as the “banger” track of the forthcoming, self titled EP “Alonetown”. psychadelic guitar riffs, spacey atmosphere and a pulsating 808 create a backdrop that gives OnDeck and K3nn3dy a platform to deliver their hard-hitting verses and chorus. This track is an “anti-party” banger of sorts. Although the overall tone of the song is fun, energetic and hedonistic, the hook contrasts that, especially in the lyrics “we too, picky, need a, pick me up/ Your drugs, risky, might kill me, don’t hit me up”. This is a track for the hip hop fans who want straight to the point witty lyricism, sporadic flows, and an infectious hook that stays with them after the song reaches its conclusion.
