Music’s biggest night is here as the 61st annual GRAMMY Awards takes over the City of Angels. Before the main event kicked off inside the Staples Center, hosted by Alicia Keys, the GRAMMYs honored many of today’s artists during the pre-show ceremony. Hosted by Shaggy, the key awards in the R&B and Rap categories were handed out during the pre-show celebration at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California.

Childish Gambino lead the pack winning two awards for ‘Best Music Video’ and ‘Best Rap/Sung Performance’ for “This is America.” The Carters, aka Beyoncé and JAY-Z, won ‘Best Urban Contemporary Album’ for their EVERYTHING IS LOVE LP, while H.E.R. kicked off a busy night winning ‘Best R&B Performance’ for her “Best Part” collaboration with Daniel Caesar. Ella Mai’s “Boo’d Up” won for ‘Best R&B Song’ and Jay Rock landed his first GRAMMY win for “King’s Dead,” which tied with Anderson .Paak’s “Bubblin” for ‘Best Rap Performance.’
