Future’s “March Madness” is one of the best rap songs of the decade, and that’s due in no small part to Tarentino’s epic, intergalactic production. In the latest episode of Genius‘ Deconstructed series, the 808 Mafia producer walks us through his creative process behind the beat, talks about the track’s meteor-sized impact (aside from being a Platinum-certified pre-game anthem, it’s one of Kanye’s, J. Cole’s and LeBron’s favorite songs), and explains how the collaboration was written in the stars.

“For me to not have been making beats that long, and for Future to hit me up wanting to work, I felt like it was a sign from God,” he says. “I was looking for a sign from God ’cause I was like, ‘You know what? I made a mistake in dropping out of school.’ So after Future hit me up asking for more beats, I just knew that this profession was for me.”
