Anyway, according to Variety, Reid has launched a new label called HitCo and has made Big Boi his first signing. The label will be distributed through EMPIRE, the independent company behind hits like D.R.A.M.’s “Broccoli” and Fat Joe and Remy Ma’s “All the Way Up.”

The first order of business for L.A. Reid and HitCo is promoting Big Boi’s “All Night” at radio. The song appeared in Apple’s viral “Animojo Yourself” commercial, so there’s a good chance you’re already familiar.

Big Boi and L.A. Reid go way back. Reid signed OutKast to Arista fresh out of high school and has been involved in each of their six albums as co-founder of LaFace Records.

Big Boi later followed Reid to Def Jam, where he released Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty and Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, and then Epic Records, where he dropped the Big Grams EP with Phantogram and last year’s Boomiverse.

Hopefully the silver lining to this announcement is that a new Big Boi album is on the way.
