Metro Boomin Talks Young Thug, ‘Esco Boomin’ & the “Don’t Trust You” Tag
Metro Boomin recently took time out from his busy schedule to chop it up with DJ Drama on Shade 45. The young Jedi talked about his success — and spats — with Young Thug, his history with Gucci Mane and Don Cannon, and wanting to be respected as a real producer, not just a kid who makes “silly street music.” “[They] try to call it trap,” he said. “I really don’t even like that word anymore.”

Metro also shared the story behind his trademark tag, “if Young Metro don’t trust you I’m gon’ shoot you,” which Complex hilariously quizzed Ben Carson about last month. With the million-dollar question, Drama asked Young Metro exactly who he doesn’t trust: “I feel like I could say, tweet, Instagram who I do trust. But I just feel like that’ll take away from it, so we just gon’ leave it in the air. Everybody gonna have to look over their shoulder,” he joked.
