Grammy-winning married lovebirds Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles-Carter have reason to boast these days after topping Forbes’ “The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples” list.
Combined, Young Hov and Bey’s annual income comes in at just under $80 million.
Last year’s runners-up on the list of The World’s Highest-Paid Celebrity Couples, the duo has now climbed one spot to top this year’s ranking. The singer’s new album went platinum in the U.S., not to mention her non-musical ventures and endorsement deals, which all helped to bring her total earnings between May 1, 2011 and May 1, 2012 to $40 million, according to data from the latest Celebrity 100 list. The hip-hop mogul made millions from Watch the Throne, his musical collaboration with pal Kanye West, and even more from the tour that followed. Add to that a bevy of non-musical enterprises such as ad firm Translation and cosmetics company Carol’s Daughter and the result is a staggering $38 million that he has brought home in twelve months, putting the couple’s annual income at $78 million. Gisele continues to out earn her husband as the world’s heighest paid model, bringing in a shocking $45 million on her own, easily beating out Brady’s combined $27 million from his NFL contract and endorsement deals. British superstars David and Victoria Beckham moved up the list into third place this year, with a combined $54 million, the majority of which comes from David’s advertisement deals, and his big-time contract with the MLS’s Los Angeles Galaxy. Victoria’s post Spice Girl endeavors have included forays into fashion, as her self-titled line scores annual sales of $40 million, and is growing at a rate in the double digits. The top five is rounded out by a pair of Hollywood couples known for big-time blockbusters, with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie bringing in $45 million, while Will and Jada Pinkett Smith bring home $40 million, respectively. No stranger to lists, Beyonce received the title “Most Beautiful Woman” by People Magazine earlier this year.
At 30, PEOPLE’s 2012 World’s Most Beautiful Woman has many accomplishments on her résumé, including being a 16-time Grammy winner, an actress and a style and beauty icon. But none is more important than her newest role: playing mom to daughter Blue Ivy, whom she and husband of four years, Jay-Z, welcomed in January. “I feel more beautiful than I’ve ever felt because I’ve given birth,” she says. “I have never felt so connected, never felt like I had such a sense of purpose on this earth.” (People)
