The latest video by Joyner Lucas, titled “Broski,” sheds light on the true nature of phoney buddies.
Lucas tells a story about two former friends whose relationship turns toxic over money and power in the gripping clip, which also includes actor and musician Rotimi.
He raps to his mates over dinner, “Because you my broski and I been there since we was babies / You may hit the bank and break me off with something wavy.” Perhaps a few hundred thousand? After a heated exchange, he adds, “Nothing insane / ‘Cause I been hurting lately and I deserve it, maybe.”
The track “Broski,” which also features NBA YoungBoy, is the follow-up single to “Cut U Off” off Lucas’ upcoming album Not Now, I’m Busy, due out on August 18.
