After dropping off their previous release “Took It Too Far”, $VN are back with their latest offering entitled “Need You” – a dark slice of moody R&B.
It’s clear to see that the duo have amazing chemistry as they both compliment each other nicely. With so many singles under their belt, “Need You” is added to the list of stand out tracks by the duo. The R&B sounding track sounds gloomy and engineered to perfection. The duo go on to say
“The process began with SAGS sending over the skeleton beat, and I immediately fell in love with its somber tone because of its slow tempo, sound selection and dark vibes”, nyXsun explains. “The first verse and chorus came together as I began to reminisce on one particular heartbreak that could’ve been ‘the one’. SAGS wanted to reinforce that idea with his verse and also wanted to hone in on the sonic aspects of the song to make it hit home with listeners.”
$VN began releasing self-produced singles in 2018 and have been revered for their contrasting yet complementary vocal styles. With 10 singles already under their belts, their genre-infusing music has charted on SoundCloud’s “New and Hot Canadian R&B”, aired on major Canadian radio stations such as Toronto’s Hip-Hop Flow 93.5, and been featured on popular Spotify and Audiomack playlists. Alongside their musical endeavours, they’re working on building their brand and collective, MØD.
