First-Week Sales: Tyler, The Creator’s ‘Flower Boy’ & Meek Mill’s ‘Wins & Losses’

Numbers Don’t Lie.

Lana Del Rey, Tyler, The Creator and Meek Mill headlined a busy album release day last Friday, and it was a close race. According to Chart Data, Lana Del Rey’s Lust For Life snagged the top spot on the Billboard after selling 103,000 equivalent album units in its opening week. Tyler’s Flower Boy came in at a close second with 100,000 sales, while Meek’s Wins & Losses landed at No. 3 with a first-week tally of 98,500. All three albums overachieved on their initial projections.

Elsewhere on the Billboard 200, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. refuses to budge from the top five with an additional 49,000 equivalent album sales under its belt (the album recently went double platinum), while Linkin Park’s One More Light and Hybrid Theory jump back into the top 10 following the recent suicide of Chester Bennington. Tyga’s Bitch I’m the Shit 2, which also dropped last Friday, failed to crack the top 10, but JAY-Z’s 4:44 and DJ Khaled’s Grateful remain among the highest charting albums on the Billboard 200.
